Half of teenagers admit to having bullied others and more than three-quarters have witnessed bullying, a survey has found.

Newsbeat's been looking at figures which show nearly a third of teenagers say they bully someone at least once a week.

On the occasion of the National Anti-bullying Day on 6 March “The Smile of the Child” presented its actions and initiatives against bullying during a press conference that was held in the Municipal Theater on 5 March 2015 in cooperation with the Municipality of Piraeus.

“The Smile of the Child” which is chairing the European Anti-bullying Network (EAN), where 17 organisations from 12 EU Member States are currently participating, is raising awareness and mobilizing children and adults on the phenomenon of bullying.

On 12 December a conference on cyber-bullying was held on San Sepolcro (Tuscany Region). The conference mainly addressed students of secondary schools (more than 200 students attended the conference), but also teachers, principals, parents, social operators and parents associations. 

Speakers and participants stressed the important role of art in combating bullying and school violence throughout a conference hosted by “The Smile of the Child” and the Embassy of Sweden.
