Child Line from Lithuania and Friends from Sweden cooperate to address bullying
Having marked 14 years of running the „WITHOUT BULLYING“ campaign, Lithuanian emotional support helpline „Child Line“ initiated a collaboration with the Swedish organisation „Friends“, which has been working on prevention of bullying and other forms of violence since 1997.
In December 2016, the new Ambassador of Sweden to Lithuania, Maria Christina Lundquist, congratulated both „Child Line“ and „Friends“ as the two organisations signed their partnership agreement in the Embassy of Sweden in Vilnius.
According to recent reports of the cross-national Health Behaviour in School-aged Children study, conducted by the World Health Organisation (WHO) in 42 countries worldwide, Sweden has one of the lowest bullying rates in the world, whereas bullying among teenagers is particularly common phenomenon in Lithuania.
By running the campaign „WITHOUT BULLYING“, „Child Line“ strives to raise awareness about the bullying and suggest effective methods of bullying prevention. A partnership with an organisation as experienced as „Friends“ will enable „Child Line“ to adopt reliable methods of bullying prevention and encourage a safer environment in Lithuanian schools.
Both FRIENDS from Sweden and Child Line from Lithuania are active members of the European Anti-bullying Network.
